charter yacht SaskiannaManagement company Nicholson Yachts has just announced that the 57-foot sailing yacht Saskianna is offering an early-booking discount for summer charters in New England.

If you book by June 15 for charters anytime this summer, you can get Saskianna at a weekly base rate of $8,500 for two guests or $10,000 for four guests.

That's in comparison to the yacht's regular weekly base rates, which are $10,000 for two guests and $12,000 for four guests.

Saskianna is a 1986 build whose owners, I'm told, take maintenance and upkeep seriously. The yacht is currently in the shipyard, where a new generator is being installed, the yacht's engine is being rebuilt, a larger-capacity water heater is being added, and the entire engine room is being encased in Soundown insulation.

Translated into your comfort as a charter guest, that means the air conditioning will be unlikely to go on the fritz, you'll be able to motor into port if there's not enough wind for sailing, you'll have more hot water in the shower, and the boat will be quieter under way so that you can enjoy the sounds of nature instead of the rattling of machinery.

Any reputable charter broker can help you book Saskianna before June 15 to receive the newly announced discount.
